Friday Harbour is a mixed-use, recreation-based development in the Town of Innisfil. The development is to be located on approximately 239 hectares of land bounded by Big Bay Point Road to the north and west, Thirteenth Line to the south and Lake Simcoe to the east. The site is neatly split into three, equal sized parcels (approx. 80 hectares each) : just past the entry gates will be the golf course; beyond that will be protected woodland and wetlands which include walking trails and wildlife habitats; and at the waterfront, the pedestrian village and marina.

The resort will have interesting activities all year round and not just the summer or warmer months. Winter activities include ski hills just half-hour away and ice fishing on the Lake. The resort will also provide shuttle service to the nearby Barrie GO Transit station less than 10 minutes away, making car-less commute possible for its residents if they want.

Friday Harbour will be a pedestrian friendly “new urbanist” style resort community consisting of a mix of resort residential, commercial, entertainment and recreational uses.
The harbor will be ringed by condos, hotel units, restaurants, shops, a boardwalk and a lake clubhouse and 300-seat performing arts centre. It will include newly constructed islands with waterfront townhomes. Upto 1600 resort style residential units are planned-condos, condo townhomes and large residences. The development includes 53,200 square metres of retail/non-residential floor space. The pedestrian village will have 40 stores and a pier that will be the site for events such as farmers’ markets.

There will be a multitude of activities residents can partake in, including kayaking, canoeing, beach volleyball, biking, hiking, inline skating or relaxing on the small sand beach.

The developer of this project is Geranium Corporation-a large and well-known firm operating in GTA and Ontario since 1977. They have built more than 7000 homes since their inception.

An Exclusive Lake Club
At the heart of the marina is The Lake Club. An Adventure Concierge can greet you and help plan your activities, which just might include a workout or exercise class at the Training Centre. Includes Day Care Zone for kids,  Wellness Centre spa and a well-equipped Business Centre. Other amenities of the Lake Club include: a hot tub, wading pool, and lap pool with infinity edge to the lake, a lawn for badminton and croquet, an outdoor firepit and patio bar, a restaurant/bar with snacks, full meals, and beverages.

Eco-friendliness
- the resort will improve fish habitat in the area. It will improve water quality in the area by diverting future and existing phosphorus loading to a state of the art waste water treatment plant.
- all existing ecological functions will be maintained along with the creation of two new amphibian breeding pools, enhancement of a dug pond for turtles, and snake habitat.
- wildlife passages will assist the movement of amphibians and reptiles as they move to and from spring, summer and winter habitats.
- rainfall from rooftops, roads, landscaped areas, and courtyards will flow into underground storage tanks and a storm pond for irrigation of golf course.
- the marina basin will be managed to meet or exceed high standards of water quality and habitat protection so that it is swimmable and fishable.
